The Central Region Flag Football Competition will be held on Saturday October 19th, 2024 at St. Gabriel's Catholic School

SOTX wants excited, passionate and eager volunteers to come support our amazing Flag Football  competition.

Is this your first time volunteering and not sure what to expect? Check out the information below!

WHAT TO EXPECT
1. Please arrive 15 mins prior to your assigned shift to get instructions and shown designated area.
2. We will be providing water for all volunteers but bring a water bottle just in case we run out( FOOD WILL NOT BE PROVIDED)
3. Please wear comfortable active weather appropriate clothing. Please bring a shirt that represents your organization just in case we can't provide volunteer shirts.

First Aid
The First Aid Volunteer provides on-site basic first aid care to athletes, volunteers, and spectators throughout the event. This role is essential to maintaining a safe competition environment. Volunteers must hold a current CPR and First Aid certification (from the American Red Cross, American Heart Association, or equivalent) and present valid proof of certification to the Competition Director upon arrival.

Ball Spotter
As a Ball Spotter, you’ll work closely with referees and scorekeepers to help track the position of the football on the field after each play. Your role ensures that each new play starts from the correct spot and helps keep the game running smoothly and fairly.

Individual Skills
As a Skills Station Assistant, you will play an essential role in supporting athletes during the flag football individual skills competition. Volunteers will help run specific stations designed to test various football-related skills, ensuring a positive, safe, and encouraging environment for all participants.

Referees
As a Volunteer Referee, you will officiate flag football games to ensure fair play, enforce rules, and promote a safe, supportive environment for athletes. Referees play a crucial role in upholding the spirit of Special Olympics—focusing on encouragement, sportsmanship and respect.

Score Keepers
As a Flag Football Scorekeeper, you will be responsible for accurately tracking and recording scores, timing, and key game statistics during competition. Your attention to detail and consistency will help ensure a smooth, fair, and organized event for athletes and coaches.
